To ensure that the gel polish will stick permanently, you need to use the nail cleanser to clean your nails. You can also consider using the CND Scrubfresh product to decontaminate and improve the adhesion.
Use the cuticle remover
After you have trimmed your nails to the required shape, you need to apply a cuticle remover. The cuticle remover you apply around the base of your skin will allow you to push back the skin from the nail using a cuticle stick.
Remove all the oil residues that remain on the nails using a cotton material that has been dipped in acetone substance. If you have cuticles that are rough, you need to soak them in hot water to soften them before you use the cuticle stick.
Apply the gel base coat
You need to apply the gel polish on your nails without spreading it all over the cuticles. This will be followed by putting the polished nails under ultraviolet or LED light to cure the nails for a particular time as prescribed by the manufacturer of the gel polish you have used.
Most gel products usually recommend a minimum of one minute. You need to check the descriptions on the box of the product or check on the manufacturer’s website for clarifications. You need to find out the exact time you should take to cure the polished nails.
Apply the gel coat and gel top coat
After the base coat, you are required to apply the gel coat evenly on the nail and cure it under the UV or LED light for the prescribed time. The coat makes the gel look bolder. After this, you are required to apply the gel top coat. This will make the manicure to last longer. Apply the top gel coat evenly on the nails and then cure it for the prescribed time.
Wipe with alcohol
Use alcohol that is about 99% Isopropyl. This will make the polished nails feel tacky and sticky. You need to apply this alcohol in little bits and rinse with a cotton ball. Allow the nails to dry after which they will appear smooth and shiny.
